Being a specialist in a certain area, the radiologist can confirm or refine the results of an imaging diagnosis, and sometimes also refer you to another doctor who you should consult.
No matter what disease you have and what treatment you’ve been prescribed, an alternative opinion is crucial to know if you are getting the right treatment that is best for you.
Doctors have different backgrounds, their own history and experience. MRI/PET/CT interpretation is performed by an experienced neuroradiologist who, in addition to a very long basic internship, has received several additional specializations and other valuable knowledge that allows him to perfectly understand the meaning of each finding. It takes 7 years to get a basic certification as a radiologist.
A specialist in a particular field is a specially trained radiologist who is focused on your disease, so for example if the examination was performed on the brain, it is recommended to get an opinion from a radiologist who specializes in brain imaging.
A doctor who specializes in spine CT is not a cardiac CT specialist. This requires other knowledge and experience. So, you should get second opinion CT from a proper specialist.
The best doctor second opinion is important for the completeness of the diagnosis and allows the attending physician to decide on the correct treatment.
In order to get the most accurate analysis of the MRI / PET / CT scan from an Israeli doctor, please provide a detailed medical history and CD. If you have a previous scan for comparison it should be provided as well.
